CHILD & ADOLESCENT
 Children & Adolescent Services
C4 services are child-centered and family focused, with the needs of the family and child dictating the types of services provided. C4 services are community-based and responsive to the cultural, racial and ethnic differences of the populations served.

Child & Adolescent Outpatient Services: focuses on the needs of children and adolescents who are having serious difficulties at home, in school and/or with peers.C4's goal is to strengthen family stability by improving the mental health and functionality of the family unit. Services are provided in the Edgewater, Uptown, Logan Square and Avondale communities of Chicago.

SASS (Screening, Assessment and Support Services) Crisis Services: stabilizes the family in crisis, provides brief intervention services (up to 90 days) and then links the family to community-based counseling for psychiatric care. This approach helps prevent future conflicts that may result in separation of the child from the home.

C4 ABLA: An Urban Systems of Care Initiative : a community-based outreach and support service initiative that addresses the needs of children and their families in innovative ways. It includes assessment, linkage, prevention, advocacy, collaboration with community resources ,and outreach to families in the ABLA community. ABLA ( Adams, Brooks, Loomis, Abbott) Homes is one of the oldest Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) developments.

Mental Health/Juvenile Justice (MH/JJ): provides screening, assessment and linkage services to youth in the juvenile justice system who are identified as experiencing a major mental illness. The focus of services is to intervene with an array of intensive, community-based services to link the youth and support his or her family with appropriate referrals / intervention, with the goals of maintaining the child or adolescent at home in the community, and preventing more serious involvement with the Detention Center and Juvenile Justice System.

Bridges: provides intensive, in-home and community-based case management and support services to children who are presenting a variety of mental health issues,including conduct problems, adolescent depression, substance abuse, violent and aggressive behavior, runaway behaviors, truancy, hyperactivity, and family conflict, in conjunction with risk of involvement with the juvenile justice system. Clients are linked to appropriate outpatient services including therapy, diagnostic assessment, psychiatric evaluation, psychological testing and treatment, as well as resources to meet medical needs that they might have.

System of Care Chicago (SOCC ): a partnership between C4 and Stockton Elementary School that provides comprehensive, community-based care to children and adolescents with emotional disorders and their families. SOCC believes that children with emotional disturbances should have access to a comprehensive array of services that addresses the child's physical, emotional,social and educational needs. Patnering with parents is key to this approach since they are the experts on their chilldren.

Parent Services: offers a wide range of services that assist parents in raising healthy families including parent support groups, parent advocacy services, parent workshops, parent psycho-educational groups, and the Parent Education Program that includes an eight-week parenting skills series, three home visits, and on-going support group.

Prevention Services: addresses the problem of substance abuse and delinquency in youth through the development and enhancement of pro-social skills that heighten self-esteem, as opposed to the factors contributing to thep redisposition of drug use, gang affiliation and violent tendencies. Presented as a 17-week curriculum to at-risk youth in schools and after school settings, the program focuses on the social and psychological factors that promote the initiation and early stages of substance use/abuse. Students are taught to resist direct peer pressure to smoke, drink, or use drugs.

 Art Therapy
Helps children, adolescents and their families use creative outlets such as painting, drawing and sculpture along with traditional verbal therapy to address complex issues of trauma and grief, resolve behavioral difficulties through development of positive coping skills and to rebuild more trusting and sustained relationships with peers and family. Licensed, graduate-level art therapists present on-site individual, group and family art therapy and provide collaborative art services in the community through partnerships with the Chicago Park District and Chicago Public Schools.
